Commercial Motor & Fleet

Commercial Motor and Fleet Insurance for Australian Businesses

Covers the vehicles your business runs: damage to them, and the damage they cause to other people. One vehicle or a hundred, the cover works the same way and is rated on what the vehicles do and who drives them.

What it covers

  • Damage to your own vehicles
  • Damage your vehicles cause to others
  • Theft, fire and attempted theft
  • Tools and accessories, where they are declared

What it does not

  • Injury to the driver — that is Workers Compensation or a personal accident policy
  • Goods being carried for a customer — that is Marine Transit
  • Use the policy was never told about, such as hiring the vehicle out

What an insurer will ask you

These are the real questions, and why each one changes your premium. Our chat walks through them with you.

Do any drivers have convictions for drink or drug driving in the last three years?

The driving record of whoever is behind the wheel is the most predictive rating factor in motor insurance. A non-disclosure here is also the fastest way to have a claim declined.

Are any vehicles used for rental or hire?

Hiring a vehicle out is a materially different risk, and several insurers decline it outright rather than price it.

Do any vehicles carry flammable or hazardous goods?

It changes both the liability exposure and which insurers will look at the risk at all.

Are there unrepaired damage or mechanical problems on any vehicle?

Pre-existing damage is what claim disputes are built on. Declaring it up front is what stops an argument later.

Tell us what you do, and we will take it from there.

No forms. Answer a few questions in chat and an authorised broker takes it to the market for you.
